The GIN levels, explained
Two courses run side by side, at home through level five, in person from level six up — and a hotel key card in Düsseldorf that couldn't survive the training.
Two tracks, done together
GIN training runs on two courses. The Success Mastery Course is the audio course. The Science of Personal Mastery Course is a book-style training — modular, built into individual lessons you work through at your own pace. Both come with adjunct material they recommend and some assignments built in. They're meant to be done concurrently, and they work best that way, because they hit your personal development from different angles.
The structure
Levels one through eight are released, with level nine starting to come out this fall. On the Success Mastery Course, levels one through five are done at home, at your own pace. At level five you pass a test to become a full level-five member, and from there you can upgrade to six if you want to. Starting at level six, the Success Mastery training is done in person — and it's incredible.
Düsseldorf, summer 2013
I did level six in Düsseldorf, Germany. Afterward I was buzzing so hard from the training that my energy kept blowing out the magnetic strip on my hotel key card. I'd go up to my room, the key wouldn't work, I'd go down to the front desk and get another. In that hotel you needed the card to run the elevator — and by the time I'd walked from the desk to the elevator, the new card was dead too. Back to the desk. Same thing. In the end a friend had to carry my key a few feet away from me and walk me to my room. I've watched the same thing happen on a GIN cruise: after an evening session with energetic exercises, a big chunk of the audience found their cabin cards blown out, and there was a long line at the front desk that night.
Level six and up is where the most exciting part of membership lives, to me. Levels one through five lay the foundation — yes, to help you hit your goals and achieve more, but also so you're actually able to receive what the higher-level training gives you.
Major Events
Quarterly, and key. I don't think the GIN experience is complete without them. If you're somewhere you can't fly to the event, you can now attend virtually over Zoom.
Deciding whether to climb
You don't have to, and don't worry about it. Level one is a complete experience — it's what a GIN membership starts you at — and there's more value in it than there has ever been: you get the Dream, Leadership, and Communication Processes just from being a member and attending the Major Events in person, on top of both courses. By the time you've taken advantage of everything at level one, you'll have total certainty about whether you want to go to the next one or not. Going up the levels isn't for everybody. We have plenty of happy members who have been at level one for years and are quite happy there.
